Registry Alternatives

As an advocate for our cause, have you ever been asked “If we get rid of the registry/have shorter sentences, what can we do instead?”

There is no simple, one-for-all solution. However, for almost everyone who is convicted of a sexually-related offense, one or more of the below evidence-based programs could be effective: coaching/counseling; diversion; juvenile justice; restorative justice; and prevention programs. Familiarize yourself with the ones from your state–and the U.S.–and be better prepared to answer those hard questions.

Please use this form to report any broken links. Scroll to the bottom of this page to add a new resource.

Expand any record by clicking the expansion symbol seen when you hover your mouse over the row’s leftmost column. Filter, sort or group the database by using the commands at the top of the table. Visit the source website by clicking the link once to activate it, then a second time to open the link.

IMPORTANT: There are both vertical and horizontal scroll bars within the data table.

To search for a particular topic, headline, author, or media outlet simply use the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the table as shown.
